The Spring Grove school board will vote later this month on whether to provide a second computer lab at Spring Grove Elementary School.

Superintendent Robert Lombardo made a request for the lab at this week's board meeting.

He pointed out that the school has 682 students, the second highest enrollment in the district, and only one computer lab. It's one of three elementary schools in the district.

Lombardo said that is not allowing adequate access and intructional time for every student.

The two-story building had a second lab on the second floor that was converted to a classroom. Using that room would significantly cuts down the financial impact of the project because it is already wired for computers.

At an estimated cost of $27,000, Lombardo said the bulk of the project cost is equipment. The project would be financed from the district's capital reserve fund.
