A portion of Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bedford County will be closed for a few hours this weekend as a construction crew removes an overhead bridge.

The toll highway will be closed between the Somerset Exit and the Bedford Exit from midnight Saturday and 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from turnpike commission.

Alternate-route cards will be available to exiting travelers at the Somerset and Bedford interchanges during the closure. Motorists should expect higher traffic volumes on detour roads during the closure.

The closure will happen only if the weather permits.
