York's more stylish side will be on display this week as Boutique Week returns for the second year.

The downtown event kicks off Friday with a 5 to 9 p.m. sidewalk sale and a 7 p.m. fashion show at Central Market.

Boutique Week, which got its start last year, will continue through Friday, Sept. 13. More than a dozen establishments have signed on to participate.

Customers can expect promotional sales and in-store demonstrations throughout the week.

Participating stores include Arthur and Daughters, 24 N. Beaver St.; Varsity Smoke Shack, 39 W. Market St.; My Girlfriend's Wardrobe, 14 N. George St.; Nuts About Granola, 46 W. Philadelphia St.; Sunrise Soap Company, 29 N. Beaver St.; Ladybug Baking Company and Café, 33 N. Beaver St.; Green Bean Coffee Roasting Co., 100 S. Beaver St.; All About Brownies, 34 W. Philadelphia St.; Growing Up Green, 266 W. Market St.; I'Sha Boutique, 324 W. Market St.; Kimman's, 57 N. Beaver St.; KrysLyn's Bridal Boutique, 286 W. Market St.; Sweet Melissa's Dream, 51 N. Beaver St.; and the Watchmaker's Daughter, 22 N. Beaver. St.

Promotional Boutique Week tote bags created by The Bee, a creative repurposing collective, will be available for sale at some stores. The bags cost $20 each.
