Drivers can receive pointers on how to drive defensively during a pair of classes hosted by the Northern York County Regional Police Department in November.

The department is sponsoring the National Safety Council's Defensive Driving program that is open to motorists that are 16 or older and hold a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, according to a news release from the department.

The program is also open to drivers are 55 and older and have attended prior Coaching the Mature Driver programs.

Classes will be held the first two Saturdays in November - Nov. 2 and 16 - from 8 a.m. to noon at the 1145 E. Canal Road police station. Drivers must attend both classes.

Classes are limited to 30 people and are first come, first served, the release says.
