Award-winning country music singer Wynonna Judd will do a special holiday performance in December in York City.

Judd will perform with her band, The Big Noise, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St.

The program title is "A Simpler Christmas," according to the Strand-Capitol's news release.

During her 30-year music career, Judd has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and won more than 60 industry awards.

She is a five-time Grammy winner, a songwriter and musician. She was once called the "greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline" by Rolling Stone magazine.

Judd's December performance will include Christmas classics and several of her greatest hits.

"The holidays are a hectic time of year for so many," she said in a statement. "The guys and I are excited to give fans a chance to experience the simpler sounds of the season."

Tickets for Judd's performance are currently on sale for Strand-Capitol members. The ticket sale for the general public begins 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Strand-Capitol box office.
