The National Weather Service in State College has issued a flood watch advisory for York County and surrounding counties this weekend.

The flood watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.

According to the weather service, warmer temperatures could lead to significant melting and "ice jams" on Central Pennsylvania waterways.

That, combined with the potential for a half-inch to an inch of rain, could result in flooding.

The weather service is forecasing temperatures as high as 55 degrees Saturday with a 90 percent chance of rain.

It will be sunny with temperatures reaching to about 45 degrees Sunday, according to forecasters.
