Spring Grove has decided to take early action on snow makeup days, in an effort to keep the seniors' graduation at May 30.
Only seniors will attend school Monday and Tuesday, which are still days off for students in kindergarten through 11th grade.
The district has had six cancellations as of its most recent snow day, last Thursday, said Lisa Smith, spokeswoman for the district.
Smith said seniors will be at least three days short of the 180-day requirement. The two makeup days, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, will include seminars on human resources and wellness, among others.
A release from Smith said the seniors either have to make up these days or face moving the graduation date.
Families that already have plans will need to submit the appropriate travel forms, Smith said.
Smith said makeup options — and decisions if future snow days come — were discussed Tuesday night at the board meeting. But she said the board members are waiting to see what happens this week before deciding anything further.
"It's a very fluid situation," Smith said.
