A shooting Friday afternoon near Penn Park put two York City schools in lockdown -- the third time in as many days that city schools were locked down.

A man in his 20s was shot in the buttocks at the intersection of West College and Lindberg avenues, York City Police Chief Wes Kahley said.

The man is expected to survive, according to the chief, who said the shooter remains at large.

York City School District Superintendent Eric Holmes said William Penn Senior High School and McKinley K-8 school were locked down for about five minutes as a precaution.

Phineas Davis K-8 was locked down Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon, both times when the father of a student there showed up and made threats, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call city detectives at (717) 849-2219, or call the city's anonymous tip line, (717) 849-2204. Or anonymously text a tip to YORKTIPS at 847411.
