Citing a sales decline and lower consumer demand for traditional lighting products, Osram Sylvania is closing its York plant and two other locations.
The decision will cut 345 jobs throughout plants in York, Manchester, N.H., and Central Falls, R.I.
When the plants will close and how many York workers will lose their jobs was not immediately clear.
The company, which is headquartered in Munich, Germany, has not yet filed a WARN notice with the state Department of Labor for its plant at 1128 Roosevelt St. The notices must be filed with the state 60 days before a plant closure.
Company spokeswoman Anne Guertin did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
