As plans progress for the new West Manchester Mall, several retailers are expressing interest in being part of the $47 million redevelopment.

"We're getting phone calls from dozens of retailers," said Monica Love, zoning officer for West Manchester Township.

Ann Taylor Loft, a women's fashion house, has filed a building permit with the township to construct a store between Kohl's and the mall's main entrance on the Route 30 side of the shopping hub.

Petco also said it's planning a store at the new mall, which will be an outdoor shopping plaza like Hunt Valley Towne Center in Maryland.

Other retailers have asked the township what signage is allowed and other questions, but Ann Taylor Loft and Petco are the only stores that have submitted formal plans, Love said.

The new mall is expected to open in time for the Christmas shopping season, but no construction date has been set.

Township supervisors will consider land development plans for the mall during their meeting on April 24.
