The York County Republican Committee is the most local form of representative government in York County. That is why a group of us decided to take action. We got on the ballot, recruited write-ins and got out the vote. Many of us were elected to the committee. Thank you for your vote.

However, the duly elected committee people may not have the chance to make their voices heard. The bylaws of the Republican committee allow the incumbent chairman to appoint people to vacant committee positions. No problem with that.

However, the chairman is allowed to appoint these people before the elected committee people vote for their chairman. So, in theory, the chairman could appoint people to the committee who in turn will vote for that person as chairman. That is the definition of cronyism.

We are asking Chairman Bob Wilson to not appoint any committee people before we vote for chairman. Let the elected committee people choose their chairman.
