WILKES-BARRE - A northeastern Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty in connection with a shooting death that authorities said stemmed from a fight over a snow blower.

Thirty-nine-year-old Brian Pavia of Plains Township entered a guilty plea Thursday to a third-degree murder charge.

The Luzerne County judge immediately sentenced him to spend six to 12 years in state prison for the killing of 38-year-old John Dulsky on Dec. 17.

Defense attorneys had said their client acted in self-defense.

Prosecutors said the victim's gunshot wounds to the neck and lower back prove otherwise.

Authorities said the men had a history of disputes and had been contracted by a law office to do work at the Forty Fort building where the shooting occurred.
