A Dover man previously convicted of possessing child pornography two years ago must serve a lengthy state prison sentence for molesting a 13-year-old boy he met over the Internet last winter.

Daniel Eugene Dacheux II went to the boy's Red Lion-area house in December at a time the boy's parents were sleeping, according to deputy prosecutor Diana Spurlin.

He convinced the boy to perform oral sex on him, the prosecutor said.

Dacheux, 22, of Canal Road, pleaded guilty Thursday in York County Court to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a victim less than 16 years old and corruption of minors.

Prison time: As part of a negotiated plea agreement, Dacheux will be sentenced to five to 12 years in prison plus three years of probation, according to Spurlin.

Sentencing is set for Oct. 27.

Spurlin said Dacheux will be supervised by county probation officers rather than state probation officers, the goal being that county probation officers will be able to keep a closer eye on Dacheux and conduct more home visits.

He must undergo a sexual-offender assessment to determine if he should be deemed a sexually violent predator under the state's Megan's Law, the prosecutor said.

The victim's family approved of the plea agreement, Spurlin said.

Other charges: Dacheux remains charged in Dauphin County with having unlawful contact with a minor, disseminating sexually explicit material, corruption of minors and failing to register as a sex offender.

He has a plea hearing scheduled in the case for Aug. 5, according to Dauphin County court records.

In York County, Dacheux pleaded guilty in August 2012 to possessing child pornography and was sentenced to three to 23 months in prison.

Pennsylvania's sexual-offender assessment board at that time didn't find Dacheux to be a sexually violent predator.

He is a listed sex offender on the state's Megan's Law website.

Spurlin said Dacheux cooperated with the police investigation.
