A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for York County until early Monday.

The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, also includes southcentral Pennsylvania and much of the region.

It is in effect until 2 a.m. Monday, the weather service says.

Reports are predicting a few thunderstorms, some of which could be severe with downpours, large hail and damaging winds, will hit York County tonight, according to AccuWeather.

There's also a chance that a tornado could be included in the mess, AccuWeather says.

On the plus side, the storm will usher in cooler temperatures on Monday when there could be a lingering shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon, AccuWeather says.
