The Turkey Hill at 209 Carlisle Ave. is closed until construction workers erect a temporary wall to repair damage from a vehicle crashing into the business Wednesday morning.

The mini-mart should reopen this afternoon after the city conducts a follow-up inspection, said Steven Buffington, deputy director of permits, planning and zoning for York City.

Buffington signed an order condemning the building as unsafe after a vehicle struck the front of store early Wednesday. He recommended an engineer further inspect what he classified as "moderate damage," and the engineer decided the building could reopen following temporary repair work, Buffington said.

"Once that temporary wall is up and finished I'll be able to go out and allow them to reopen," Buffington said.

Turkey Hill corporate and franchise employees declined comment.
