Weather conditions permitting, spraying to control adult mosquito populations will be conducted during the evening hours on Monday in Springettsbury Township.

The spray event will be in the residential and commercial areas north of Route 30, south of Ridgewood Road, in the vicinity of North Sherman Street and North Hills Road, according to a press release.

Samples collected by Penn State Extension York County's West Nile Virus Program indicate large mosquito populations in these areas capable of transmitting West Nile virus. Signs will be posted the day of the spray event to inform local residents.

The rain date for this spray event will be Tuesday..

The product used will be Biomist 3+15 ULV and will be applied at 1.5 ounces per acre, and it will be sprayed from a truck..
