Shoppers at Giant in York Township will soon be able to sip their Starbucks drinks while they shop for groceries.
The store at 275 Pauline Drive is in the middle of a two-month remodel that will add a Starbucks location inside the front of the market.
It will be the first Giant in York County to have a Starbucks inside the store, said Chris Brand, spokesman for the grocery chain.
"Their coffee is exceptional, and we will continue to look at other Giant locations in York County where Starbucks would be a good fit," he said.
The remodel began in July and is expected to be complete in mid-September, Brand said.
Other areas of the store are also be updated, including produce, deli, bakery and frozen sections.
"We are expanding those areas and will be adding additional items within each of those departments to improve the variety of our product," Brand said.
Other changes: Giant is also adding a sushi menu with items prepared daily by a sushi chef.
The remodel and new sections will "make it easier for our shoppers," he said.
Giant used customer input while planning the redesign of the Pauline Drive store.
"We really pride ourselves on our store fleet. We want our stores to be everything our customers want them to be," Brand said.
Giant has remodeled several local stores in the last few years.
The Pauline Drive location, which opened in August 1990, was last remodeled in 2007, Brand said.
"We figured it was time for a facelift," he said.
