The National Weather Service is predicting a 40 percent chance of rain on Labor Day, and September will begin with some of the hottest weather of the summer.

The best chance for showers and thunderstorms on Monday will come after 2 p.m.

Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies with a high of 85 and high humidity. As of 10 p.m. Sunday night, the humidity stood at 88 percent.

Tuesday will bring a high near 90 and another chance of showers and thunderstorms.

The weather will dry out the rest of the week, with a high of 85 on Wednesday, 86 on Thursday and 87 on Friday.
