$100M fund for fraud victims

HARRISBURG -- A judge gave his approval Wednesday to a settlement of fraud charges against MoneyGram International Inc., including the establishment of a $100 million victim compensation fund.

U.S. Middle District Judge Christopher Conner accepted a deferred prosecution agreement between federal prosecutors and the Dallas-based payment services provider. Prosecutors said the company turned a blind eye to scam artists and money launderers, and failed to act against agents linked to fraud schemes.

Victims can call 877-282-2610 or visit and search for "MoneyGram."

Crayola to close

FREDERICKSBURG, Pa. -- A Crayola warehouse in central Pennsylvania is closing.

The crayon maker is closing a 550,000-square-foot distribution center in Bethel Township, Lebanon County. About 70 employees will lose their jobs, starting Jan. 18.

Crayola is moving the operation to the Majestic Bethlehem Center, making it the first tenant in a $40 million, 800,000-square-foot site on what was formerly Bethlehem Steel property.

Crayola has its main headquarters in Easton.
