Track champion Danny Dietrich turned in another impressive performance in winning Saturday's Kenny Weld/Hilly Rife Memorial Race for the sprint cars at Lincoln Speedway. Dietrich's $5,630 win in the 40-lap race was his ninth at Lincoln this year, and 10th overall.

Dietrich started the race from the eighth position, and slowly worked his way toward the front as front row starters Gerard McIntyre Jr. and York's Cory Haas waged a war for the top spot. The official lap leader's chart shows McIntyre leading lap one and laps 25-31, while Haas is credited with leading laps 2-24. However the lead changed hands many more times than that.

Dietrich entered the picture when he took second from Haas on the 28th lap. Four laps later he took the top spot from McIntyre and went on to score the win. Haas regained the second spot on the 38th lap, with McIntyre settling for third. Brian Montieth charged from the 19th starting spot to finish fourth, with Alan Krimes getting fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were Brent Marks, Jim Siegel, York's Adam Wilt, Hanover's Logan Schuchart and Thomasville's Greg Hodnett.

Duane Watson won the thundercar feature over Mikey Guise, Mike Slaybaugh, Roy Warehime and Wayne Dutterer.
