A Lower Chanceford Township woman accused of breaking her baby's leg has waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Amber Elizabeth Felts, 30, of the first block of Thompson Road, is now facing trial in York County Court on charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault. On Friday she waived her hearing before District Judge John Olwert, according to court records. She remains free on unsecured bail. State police said they charged Felts in late September. York Hospital staff spotted the injuries on Felts' 8-week-old son after she took him to the hospital in July, police said. The injuries included a broken thigh bone and nine broken ribs that were in the process of healing, police allege. Defense attorney Chris Ferro said Felts' waiving her hearing was "the first step toward resolving this matter in a fair and efficient manner." "I believe we can resolve this entire case without the necessity of a trial," he said.
