The National Weather Service is calling for cloudy weather Sunday, but a break from the snow that has caused havoc for motorists over the past week.

In fact, except for a 30 percent chance of snow showers New Year's Day, the week ahead will be precipitation free, according to the long-range forecast.

Sunday will offer up a high of 34 degrees, but it will feel colder than that because of winds ranging from 13 to 18 mph.

Monday's high will hit 35 and those attending outdoor New Year's Eve celebrations in the evening can expect a temperature of about 26 degrees and cloudy skies.

The weather will turn colder from mid-week on. The high isn't expected to reach 30 degrees any day Wednesday through Saturday.
