Northern York County Regional Police are investigating what could be a home-improvement scam that happened Friday in Manchester Township.

Police said around dusk, a man knocked on the door of a home in the 2500 block of Mayfield Street. He told the elderly homeowner he'd just finished seal-coating a neighbor's driveway and had extra material.

He and the homeowner agreed on a price and the man seal-coated the owner's driveway, police said. But the worker came back to the home, telling the homeowner he needed more money to cover the work he'd done.

The homeowner ended up paying the worker more money, police said.
