It's not every day that you get the chance to see and ride a dinosaur.
But this weekend, Discover the Dinosaurs, a traveling exhibit, arrives at the York Expo Center.
"We all have kids and love dinosaurs, and thought it would be really cool if we could do a show surrounding dinosaurs," said Eric Dornfeld, operations manager for Blue Star Productions, who designed the exhibit.
Blue Star Productions is a Minnesota-based company that produces and promotes consumer shows and events year-round.
The target audience is children ages 2 through 12, said Dornfeld.
"It's not a stage show, but a more interactive exhibit," Dornfeld said.
Kids can touch the dinosaurs and sit on them, and there is even one they can ride, he said.

"We're trying to make it fun for kids and families," said Dornfeld. "Hopefully everyone can learn something and have fun at the same time with their family."
Discover the Dinosaurs includes 60 museum-quality dinosaurs and has dinosaur skeletons and fossils.
The scenes include more than 1,000 plants and trees, motion by using special lighting, animatronics, fog, sound effects and backdrops to reflect prehistoric landscapes and habitats of dinosaurs, according to www.discoverthedinosaurs.com.
Children can also complete a scavenger hunt throughout the exhibit with the chance to win a prize at the end.
Two professional face painters also travel with the exhibit.
York is the fifth stop for the exhibit in 2013, and the two traveling exhibits were in more than 30 cities in 2012.
Discover the Dinosaurs will be in the Toyota Arena from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $16, or $11 for ages 2 to 11 or over the age of 65, and free for children under 2.
Tickets can be purchased at the York Expo Center or online at www.discoverthedinosaurs.com.
If you miss the show in York, you can still check it out next weekend, Feb. 8, 9 and 10, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center or at the Greater Reading Expo Center.
