York residents will have a wet commute home Friday night followed by a frigid weekend.

Rain mixed with a few wet snow flakes are in the forecast Friday night, said abc27 meteorologist Brett Thackara.

"The roads are going to be very slushy," he said.

The 50-degree forecast during the day Friday will help prevent snow accumulation, Thackara said. On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will hover in the 30-degree range, with a bitter cold wind adding to the chill.

By Monday on Presidents' Day, expect a high in the 30s but a low of just 15 degrees.

Take heart, though. The wind is expected to die down Monday, he added.
