Gov. Tom Corbett will be the featured speaker at the York County Republican Committee's Inaugural Lincoln Day Dinner, held in Hanover on Thursday, March 14.

Chairman Bob Wilson said the first-ever event is being held to celebrate Abraham Lincoln as the first Republican president of the United States, but there's no theme for the politicians who were invited to speak.

In addition to Corbett, speakers include U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, R-York County, state Sen. Mike Waugh, R-Shrewsbury, and state Rep. Will Tallman, R-York and Adams counties.

The governor and others can choose a topic, Wilson said. "It could be anything from the budget to liquor privatization. The sky's the limit."

Hanover was chosen as location because the town has a rich history, Wilson said.

He said he also believes it has been several years since a sitting governor visited the area. Corbett was in York on Feb. 8.

The dinner will be held 7 p.m. at Hanover Elks Lodge, 47 Forney Ave.

VIP tickets, which include dinner and a 6 p.m. reception with the governor, are $100. General reception and dinner tickets cost $45.
