A natural-gas leak Wednesday briefly stopped renovation work at an old York City factory building being restored by Think Loud Development, according to Assistant Fire Chief Greg Altland.

Think Loud includes members of the rock band Live.

Crews were called to the former Bi-Comp Inc. building at 210 York St. about noon, according to the York County 911 Center.

Altland said a low-pressure gas line was damaged by workers installing a new sewer line for the building.

Because there was a strong odor of gas in a portion of the building, Altland said he ordered workers inside to evacuate and turn off their portable heaters, just as a precaution.

No one was hurt, he said.

Columbia Gas workers temporarily fixed the line, which eventually will be replaced, according to Altland.

Think Loud workers were allowed back inside just after 1 p.m., he said.
