Eastbound drivers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike took a detour around a vehicle fire for nearly six hours Thursday morning.

Eastbound lanes of the turnpike were closed between Breezewood and Blue Mountain after a vehicle fire was reported soon after 3 a.m., the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said. The roadway was closed until 10 a.m., the commission said.

Traffic was routed off the turnpike at Blue Mountain onto Route 997 south to Interstate 81 north to Route 11 south and re-entering at Carlisle.

The vehicle fire happened at milepost 207.4.
