A York City store owner shot multiple times at two people who, according to police, robbed La Familia Store at gunpoint Saturday.

At least one bullet struck one of the suspects, a female, York City Police said in a news release.

The robbery happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the store, 350 Prospect St. Police said two people entered the store and demanded money. One of the robbers, a male, displayed a handgun, according to the news release.

The store owner, whom police have not identified, fired several shots at the robbers, who fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

When police arrived, they determined one of the robbers had been shot. They later found the female suspect, who was transported to York Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, police said.

Police have not located the male suspect. The investigation continues.
