A memorial service has been scheduled for Steven H. Himes, a 43-year-old Brogue resident who, state police said, on Saturday killed his wife before taking his own life.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 East Market St. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church Himes attended: Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.

Himes was born Sept. 11, 1969, in York to parents Harold J. Himes of Yorkana and the late Loreda (Holzapple) Himes.

A 1987 graduate of Eastern York High School and the York Technical Institute, Himes worked as a supervisor for the Phillips Group.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Benjamin and Daniel Himes; brother Michael J. Himes and his wife Connie of Paradise; sister Gail Shaffer and her husband Charles of Red Lion; sister Lisa Reynolds of Hellam; a brother Timothy J. Himes and his wife Aren of Dover; and nieces and nephews.
