A West York woman slashed her boyfriend's arm Sunday morning during an argument that started because he tried to wake her up for work, according to borough police.

Jacy Skye Chantiles, 25, of the 1100 block of West Poplar Street, is free on $500 bail, charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

West York Police said they were called to her home about 8:45 a.m. because Chantiles and boyfriend Ronald Glatfelter were fighting loudly. They then heard Chantiles yell, "Get off me," police said.

Officers separated the couple, according to police, who said Chantiles had attacked Glatfelter with a box cutter, leaving a 12-inch slash on his arm that required medical attention.

Glatfelter, 30, of West Philadelphia Street, was visibly intoxicated and was irate with officers, who arrested him for having three outstanding warrants, then had him taken to York Hospital by ambulance, police said.

Officers learned Chantiles was upset with Glatfelter because he was trying to wake her up for work, and because he was irate that she was going to be late, according to police. Chantiles admitted cutting Glatfelter because "I was just mad. I was really mad," according to police.

Officers charged Glatfelter with harassment and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He remains in York County Prison on a probation-violation detainer, records state.
