Shipley Fuels Marketing LLC and the City of York are recipients of state grants to convert some of their vehicles for natural gas consumption.

The city will use the funding to convert a street sweeper to compressed natural gas and purchase five natural gas vehicles, according to a press release from Gov. Tom Corbett's office.

Shipley will convert three tractors to bi-fuel, the release said.

The projects are among $6.7 million distributed to 18 Pennsylvania companies and organizations that are switching their heavy-duty fleet vehicles to natural gas.
