Pleasureville pitchers Tyler Lingg and Dan Sepic delivered matching outstanding performances in York-Adams American Legion baseball action on Sunday.

Lingg and Sepic hurled back-to-back shutouts as Pleasureville defeated South Western, 1-0, and Northeastern, 3-0.

Lingg struck out four batters and walked just one. He allowed five singles.

His teammates scored the winning run in the sixth inning when Jordan Chicanias singled home Tyler Wagner. Wagner reached on a fielder's choice and moved to second on a walk to Garret Kirkpatrick. Wagner and Chicanias accounted for four of Pleasureville's six hits.

South Western's Kyle Raubenstine pitched well in defeat. He yielded five singles in 51/3 innings while striking out five batters and walking four.

Sepic, meanwhile, checked Northeastern on just two hits, both singles. He struck out four and walked only one.

Sepic aided his own cause by driving in his team's first run with a triple to deep center field in the first inning. He finished with two RBIs.

In the fourth inning, Tyler Wagner led off with a single, moved to second on Wyatt Rentzel's sacrifice bunt and raced home on Kyle Shifflet's two-out double.

Northeastern pitcher Steve Shimkus turned in a quality effort with seven strikeouts and two walks. Shimkus gave up five hits.

Pleasureville improved its record to 4-2-0 with the two victories. Northeastern is now 4-3-1, and South Western is 3-2-0.



WRIGHTSVILLE 9, DALLASTOWN 5: At East Prospect, Wrightsville scored two runs in the second inning and then exploded for seven runs in the third inning to build a commanding 9-0 advantage. Dallastown rallied late with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings and three runs in the seventh. Colby Shimmel pitched the first six innings for Wrightsville allowing just two runs to earn the victory. He struck out six batters and walked two. Hunter Weibley and Clayton Miller collected two hits each for the winners, and Thomas Taylor drove in two runs. Dallastown's Jon Snyder went 2-2. Wrightsville improved its record to 4-1-1, and Dallastown slipped to 0-2-0.

NORTHEASTERN 8, STEWARTSTOWN 7 (NINE INNINGS): At Manchester, the home team plated the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice bunt from Austin Gentzler, two walks and a couple of Stewartstown miscues to win the game. Jesse Sargen led Northeastern at the plate by going 3-4, including a triple. Other key contributors were Devin Blymire, who went 3-5; Brayton Bare, who had a double and two RBIs; Steven Shimkus with two RBIs; Jordan Ely with three runs scored and Nick Yinger with two runs scored. For Stewartstown, Collin Crowell went 3-3, Jason Cooper went 2-4 with two runs scored, Daniel Hare went 2-5, including two RBIs, while teammate Mike Miller went 2-5.
