The Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center has prepared a lineup of music, comedy and family-friendly fun for its 2013-2014 season.

"We are committed to bringing great entertainment to our community, and we're very excited about the variety of artists we will welcome this season," Ken Wesler, Strand-Capitol's president and chief executive officer said in a statement.

Tickets for the season are now on sale at the theater's box office at 50 N. George St. in York City.

The theater will offer a variety of events from great music to hilarious comedians to performances for the entire family, Wesler said.

The season begins September 12 with a performance by Grammy award winner and singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins with special guest Blue Sky Riders.

Other highlights include performances by blues legend Buddy Guy Oct. 6; comedienne Wanda Sykes Nov. 15; Tim Warfield's All-Star Jazzy Christmas Dec. 21; singer/songwriter Don McClean Jan. 31; Haifa Symphony Orchestra of Israel Feb. 4; Moscow Festival Ballet: Swan Lake March 26 ; and Popovich Comedy Pet Theater April 4.

Several entertainers, including Sykes, comedian Steven Wright and comedian Kathleen Madigan have performed at the Strand-Capitol before, Wesler said.

Wesler said last season featured 12 sold-out shows, including classic rock, comedy and blues performances.

"This (upcoming) season is a mixture of favorites of York and some new things," he said. "I encourage all of our theatergoers to consider becoming Strand-Capitol members to be sure they never miss a sold-out show.
