Three Mile Island will test its emergency sirens later this week, according to a news release from its parent company, Exelon Generation.

At 12:15 p.m. Thursday, the original siren system will be tested, and the new system will be tested an hour later.

During each test, all 96 sirens will sound for three minutes.

The tests are conducted every year and are coordinated with Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
