Spraying to control adult mosquito populations will be conducted Thursday evening in Spring Garden Township.

The area around Virginia Avenue between Country Club Lane and West Springettsbury Avenue will be sprayed to eliminate the Asian tiger mosquito. Samples collected by Penn State Extension's York County West Nile Virus Program earlier in the month indicate high populations of the nuisance daytime-biting insect. A truck mounted insecticide spray of Duet ULV will be used.

The rain date will be Monday.

Residents may report mosquito concerns online at www.westnile.state.pa.us . For more information about reducing mosquitoes, call the program office at 840-2375.
