York City Police are investigating an armed home invasion that occurred Wednesday morning in the 200 block of North Broad Street.

Two suspects entered the house while the residents were sleeping and started to ransack it for valuables, said city police Lt. Tim Utley. At some point, a suspect got into a physical altercation with one of the residents and bound him with electrical tape, he said.

Another resident then called 911, and when police responded at about 6:20 a.m., the suspects fled in different directions, eluding police, Utley said.

The knife-wielding suspects wore dark clothing, and at least one of them wore a mask, he said.

About two hours prior, another home invasion involving two men occurred around the corner on Wallace Street, Utley said. The suspects were described very similarly to the men involved in the North Broad Street incident, and detectives are investigating a possible connection, he said.

"I'm expecting they're going to put something out today for persons of interest they want to speak to regarding this," Utley said.

No one was reported to be hurt in either incident, he said.Anyone with information may call York City Police at (717) 846-1234.
