York County West Nile Virus Program plans to spray for mosquitoes, weather conditions permitting, during the evening hours on Monday in Penn Township.

Crews will spray in the residential areas in the vicinity of Westminster Avenue and Baugher Drive. Homewood at Plum Creek will be included.

Signs were expected to be posted Monday to inform residents.

Samples collected by the Penn State Extension's York County West Nile Virus Program have shown the area has high populations of mosquitoes that can carry the West Nile virus.

The rain date will be Wednesday.
