Eight York-Adams League field hockey teams have qualified for the District 3 Tournament.

The local league is led by Division I champion Dallastown (17-1), which is the No. 4 seed in Class AAA. The Wildcats have a bye in the play-in round and will face the winner of Saturday's Ephrata-Gov. Mifflin game. Ephrata (12-5-1) is the No. 13 seed and Gov. Mifflin (9-9) is the No. 20 seed. Dallastown will take on the winner of that game at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at York Suburban.

Division II runner-up Red Lion (13-2) is the No. 6 seed in AAA and will battle No. 11 seed Manheim Central (13-4-1) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at York Suburban.

The only other local team in the AAA field is No. 16 seed Northeastern (11-5). The Bobcats have a play-in game vs. No. 17 Muhlenberg (13-5) at 3 p.m. Saturday at Penn Manor.

There are five York-Adams teams in the AA field, led by No. 9 seed Bermudian Springs (14-3-1), which won the Division III title. The Eagles face No. 8 seed Berks Catholic (14-4) at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Lower Dauphin.

Susquehannock (11-4) is the No. 11 seed in AA and will battle No. 6 seed Lancaster Catholic (14-3-1) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Penn Manor.

Kennard-Dale (11-4) grabbed the No. 12 seed in AA and will meet No. 5 seed Lancaster Mennonite at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Warwick.

West York (11-6) made the AA field as the No. 13 seed. The Bulldogs have a play-in game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lower Dauphin against No. 20 seed Annville-Cleona (11-7).


Susquehannock, Kennard-Dale and West York tied for the York-Adams Division II title this season.

Biglerville (11-5) is the No. 16 seed in AA and faces No. 17 seed Hamburg (11-7) at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hershey.


DALLASTOWN 4, NORTHEASTERN 0: At Dallastown, the Wildcats cruised behind two goals from Bryna Cook. Molly Childress and Taylor Kline also scored, while Maggie Noll provided two assists. Jenny Manning and Ashley Chioda also had assists. Erin Hollerbush had seven saves in a losing effort. Northeastern did not have a shot on goal. With the win, Dallastown finished off a perfect 14-0-0 York-Adams Division I season. Northeastern fell to 8-5-0 in the division.

KENNARD-DALE 2, LIT TLESTOWN 0: At Fawn Grove, Emmie Dressel and Julia D'Arrigo scored goals to lead K-D. Taylor Rill had an assist. Abi Pietra had five saves to record the shutout. Paige Mumma had 26 saves in a losing effort. K-D won the JV match, 6-0.

SUSQUEHANNOCK 5, DELONE CATHOLIC 0: At Glen Rock, Alesha Herman scored two goals to lead the Warriors. Tayler Mumley, Camryn Burk and Elizabeth Ferg also knocked the ball into the cage for Susquehannock. The Warriors' defense didn't allow Delone to take a shot on goal.

RED LION 5, CENTRAL 2: At Red Lion, the Lady Lions seized control of the York-Adams Division I match with three unanswered goals in the first half. Morgan Kuehne, Alyssa Castle and Paige Taylor gave the home team the 3-0 lead at halftime. Ali Posey then delivered two more goals for the winners in the second half. Posey and Amy Maciejewski had assists. Greta Plappert accounted for both Central goals. Red Lion also won the JV match, 3-0.

WEST YORK 2, HANOVER 0: At Hanover, the Bulldogs earned a non-league shutout behind 10 saves from Chloe Smith. Alexis Harnett and Megan Chubb had West York's goals.
