The body found Saturday in a York Township cornfield has been identified, according to York County Coroner Barry Bloss.

"It's ruled a suicide," he said, noting that the coroner's office does not release names of suicide victims.

The 53-year-old man had been missing since June 28, Bloss said. The search for him was extensive -- and included air vehicles -- but came up short, as the corn was 4 to 6 feet high back then, he said.

The operator of a corn picker found the body Saturday while harvesting corn in a field off Revere Road, according to York Area Regional Police, who responded to the scene at about 4:30 p.m.
