York County Coroner Pam Gay has identified the woman killed in the crash as 52-year-old Karen Lee Jackson of the 1700 block of Alpine Road in Warrington Township.

She died of multiple blunt force trauma. An autopsy will not be preformed, Gay said.

One person died and two others were injured in a weather-related crash in Dover Township on Sunday.

A 16-year-old boy was driving a Jeep Cherokee north on Route 74, known locally as Carlisle Road, when he lost control of the SUV on the icy road, crossed over into the southbound lane and crashed into a Dodge Durango, according to Northern York County Regional Police.

A 52-year-old woman who was in the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The 16-year-old, who suffered life-threatening injuries, and a 44-year-old man who was driving the Dodge and suffered minor injuries, were taken to York Hospital, police said.

Police did not release the names of anyone involved in the crash.

The road re-opened to traffic about 7:15 p.m., police said.

At least one person died in a crash in Dover Township on Sunday.

The crash happened on Carlisle Road near Blackberry Road just north of Dover Borough, according to York County 911 dispatches.

First responders were sent to the scene about 4:50 p.m. and the coroner was called in a short time later.

Expect road closures and delays in the area for the next few hours.


The crash happened as rain and ice pelt York County. However, it's not clear if weather or poor road conditions were factors in the crash.
