The Stewartstown Summer Theatre will conduct auditions and tech crew and pit orchestra registrations for its 35th annual production of "The Music Man."
Auditions are open to youth ages 12-19. There are not cuts. A choice of times is available: 9-11:30 a.m., noon-2:30 p.m. or 3-5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, or 1-3:30 p.m. or 4-6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Stewartstown United Methodist Church, 26 S. Main St. Youth interested in lead roles should reserve Monday evening, May 19, for callbacks.
Any youth interested in being part of stage, lighting or sound crews should register by attending the last 30 minutes of any of the sessions. Also, a parent of any youth who is auditioning or registering should plan to attend the last 30 minutes of any of the sessions.
Youth interested in playing in the pit orchestra should contact Derek at email@example.com. The orchestra is for youth ages 14 up to college age. Youth should be able to play at a high school level and be willing to participate in a scheduled audition. Instrumentation includes percussion, trombone, trumpet, tuba, clarinet, flute, saxophone, oboe, violin, cello and bass guitar.
Youth who are interested in a singing role need to bring a prepared piece with a copy of the music for the accompanist.
For speaking parts, a one-minute memorized monologue is required. Auditioners should bring shoes suitable for a dance audition, a non-returned photograph and a summer schedule of work and vacation plans.
The performances will be held on July 30-Aug.
