The York County Parks annual Cabin Fever hiking series begins with the Winter Scavenger Hike from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Rocky Ridge County Park in Springettsbury Township. The annual Cardboard Derby at Roundtop Mountain Resort features a Barnyard Bonanza theme this year. The 35th annual Stamp and Post Card Show runs from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in Horticultural Hall at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave. More than two dozen dealers from several states will feature items related to stamps, post cards and postal history. The Primp and Pamper Women's Expo and Bridal Fashion Show features a variety of vendors from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the York City Ice Arena, 941 Vander Ave. Fashion shows start at 1 and 3 p.m. The day includes fitness demonstrations, catering samples, makeovers and more. A girls' basketball showcase is set for Red Lion High School on Saturday, Jan. 26. The tripleheader will include: Delone Catholic vs. West York at 4:30 p.m.; Central Dauphin vs. New Oxford at 6:15 p.m.; and Red Lion vs. Boyertown at 7:45 p.m.

York College will play host to a men's/women's basketball doubleheader against St. Mary's on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Grumbacher Center. The women's game will start at 1 p.m., followed by the men's game at around 3 p.m.


Internationally known poet Maya Angelou will speak at York College at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in the Collegiate Performing Arts Center. Free tickets to see the author of “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and other works will be available to the public starting Thursday, Jan. 31, in the Office of Student Activities and Orientation, Room 205, Iosue Student Union.
