I would like to thank the members of the community for their support of the annual Letters of HOPE Holiday Toy Drive.
I founded Letters of HOPE in 2009 with the intent of brightening the spirits of children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tennessee, and with the help of local youth groups, senior centers, religious education classes and students and teachers of my high school, York Catholic, I have sent letters every other month for the past three years.
Last year, I began an annual toy drive and was able to send over 125 toys to St. Jude. This year, because of the kindness of the community and the generosity of Naylor Wine Cellars and the Eureka Stewartstown Volunteer Fire Co., who volunteered as drop-off locations for the toys, we collected and sent over 460 toys.
I am amazed at the outcome and sincerely grateful for the overwhelming generosity of my community. Thank you to everyone who assisted me in making these children's holidays a little brighter.
