Bless the York Community

On behalf of The Salvation Army and, more importantly, on behalf of over 5,000 York County families who will receive assistance through the programs and services of The Salvation Army in 2014, I wish to extend a sincere thank you to the whole of the York community.

The generosity of the people of York would be hard to match anywhere. It is a real testimony to your concern and caring for those in need. The many volunteers who helped with our Christmas distribution program share in a special way in our gratitude.

The Christmas Kettle Campaign raised $211,000 to be used to help those in need right here in the York community. Those funds helped provide Christmas food and turkeys to nearly 2,000 families and will help provide basic services for families throughout the whole of 2014.

Thank you, too, to all who participated in the Angel Tree Program, which provided some very nice toys for 2,200 children. The Coats for Kids Campaign provided 1,616 coats for 553 families.

Again, our thanks and our prayers go out to the whole York community. We pledge to all of our supporters that their contributions will always be used most efficiently and effectively. We see this as a grave and important responsibility.

We also ask all to keep The Salvation Army and the York community in your prayers. We all know that real solutions come from more than dollar amounts.

May God continue to bless the York community.
