Thank you City of York. On Saturday, March 1, I was walking up North Beaver Street at about 2 p.m. when I had a stroke. I fell down to the sidewalk, and while I was lying there many people stopped their cars and helped me.

These were complete strangers from all races. Two people called two ambulances for me. One man even put a blanket over me to keep me warm and stayed with me until I was in the ambulance. These were white, black, and Hispanic people that came to my rescue. The ambulance crew and the people at the York Hospital did a great job with me.

Because of these wonderful people of York I am able to write this letter. To all of them, I want to say thank you. York is a great place; the people are wonderful. The City of York should be known as an all-American city. I am alive because of the City of York.

I have been around the world, and this is the best place to live. Thank you, York.
