The Rev. Lela Henderson will give a presentation, "Basking in the Culture of New Orleans," at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Red Land Community Library, 48 Robin Hood Drive, Newberry Township. Henderson grew up in a tight-knit extended family in Louisiana. She evacuated on the eve of Hurricane Katrina and reached Harrisburg at the invitation of a fellow clergyman and friend. As the associate pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Henderson has rebuilt a life here but the culture of New Orleans continues to bubble up in her stories, memories, and the spicy roux of her Cajun Gumbo. Please reply, as space is limited.
