Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in York County this weekend, according to the Center for Traffic Safety.

It will be held sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday as part of a statewide campaign called Operation Safe Holiday.

Police in York, Adams and Lancaster counties will also step-up their enforcement of drunken driving as part of the program, which ends Jan. 2.

DUI checkpoints, roving DUI patrols and other programs designed to combat intoxicated driving are funded with federal grant money disbursed by the state Department of Transportation.
