A call to West York Police from an observant resident led to the arrest of a Manchester man that yielded drugs and cash.

Police say a patrolman responded to the call about suspicious activity believed to be drug related about 5 p.m. Wednesday and stopped the Ford Explorer 23-year-old Tyler Michael Demmitt was driving in the 12000 block of West Poplar Street.

During the stop, police seized 6 ounces of marijuana, 6 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia and the Explorer Demmitt was driving, police say.

Police believe Demmitt was going to a nearby house to sell the drugs, police said.

But now Demmitt, of the 100 block of Poplar Street, is charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver and a single count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to his court documents.

He is free on $7,500 bail, documents state. It is not known if Demmitt has retained an attorney.
