More than 400 figure skaters from across Pennsylvania and Maryland will spin, jump and glide across the ice during the Keystone State Games Figure Skating Championships at the York City Ice Arena from Friday through Sunday.

The Olympic-style event will challenge skaters of all skill levels.

Much like the Olympics, the event will feature an opening ceremony at 6:45 p.m. Friday, highlighted by a torch/flag skate, a parade of athletes and a performance by the White Rose Figure Skating Club's Theatre on Ice Group. Admission is $1.

"This event showcases a variety of ice skating styles, including freestyle, artistic and compulsory moves," said Karen Clifford, president, White Rose Figure Skating Club. "We have a range of athletes competing from toddlers to adults."

York County has been hosting the event since 2005.
